1. What is your ILEA story?
My ILEA story, I got a job working with a small wedding planning company and was invited to a WIPA meeting. It is another networking organization that was launching their Philadelphia chapter. At the WIPA event I met Erin, I was new to the events industry and networking within it. She told me all about ILEA and how much I would like it. I went to a few meeting as her guest and really connected. I loved how welcoming everyone was and I really enjoyed learning about new trends in the industry. I knew that getting involved with this organization would help me launch my career in the events industry. I wanted to learn as much as I could and eventually joined the board last year.
2. What were you like in high school?
In high school I was a floater. I had a lot of friends in different grades and groups. I was a social butterfly who made friends with kids older and younger than me. It was a small school that only had 300 students from middle school through high school. I played soccer, although I was not very good, enjoyed being in the school musical, on the yearbook committee and involved in clubs like SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions).
3. Describe your leadership style in 3 words
Strategic, Coaching. Participative
4. What is your spirit animal and why?
There are many animals that I like but when thinking about which one is my spirit animal I came up with snake. I looked up means to animals and connected with snake the most. It is described as an emotional healer. The spirit of the snake represents positive, spiritual transformation. The sought out friend when advice is needed. The snake facilitates life events to go smoothly, a connector of dots who reveals the big picture. This is very accurate in my friend group but also in my career, as an event planner it is my job to communicate and facilitate to make sure everything is on track.
